Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. These rights apply in addition to anything written in this policy, and nothing here limits or replaces them.
If there is a major failure with our service, you may cancel your membership and receive a refund for the unused portion, or keep the membership and seek compensation for the drop in value. You may also seek compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
If the failure is not a major one, we will put the problem right within a reasonable time. If we do not, you may cancel your membership and receive a refund for the unused portion.
A major failure is, broadly, where the service is unfit for its purpose, differs substantially from what we described, cannot be made fit within a reasonable time, or creates an unsafe situation.
What you are buying
A Gold or Platinum membership gives you access, for a fixed period, to the digital learning materials in the student portal: lesson notes, practice questions with model answers, video lessons, and the student Q&A.
Access begins as soon as your payment is confirmed, and the materials can be read, watched and downloaded immediately. Silver membership is free and no payment is taken for it, so nothing arises to be refunded.
Changing your mind
Because a membership gives immediate and complete access to digital course materials, we do not offer refunds where you simply change your mind, decide not to use the materials, or no longer need them.
This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which are set out above and continue to apply in full. If something is wrong with the service itself, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of this section.
We would rather you did not spend money you do not need to. Every student can register free on Silver and look through the portal before paying for anything, and the full contents of each course are listed on its course page.
If we end your membership early
If we withdraw a course, close a membership, or are otherwise unable to keep providing what you paid for, we will refund the unused part of your membership, calculated as the whole calendar months remaining on your access period.
The same applies where the Australian Consumer Law entitles you to a refund for the unused portion.
If something is not working
Please tell us before asking for a refund. Most problems — a video that will not play, a lesson that has not appeared, an account still showing the wrong tier — we can fix quickly, and we would rather fix them than lose you.
Where the problem is a minor failure, the Australian Consumer Law allows us to put it right within a reasonable time rather than refund. If we cannot, you may cancel and receive a refund for the unused portion.
How to ask for a refund
Email support@intuitionedu.com with the email address on your account, the date and amount of the payment, and what has gone wrong.
We will reply within five business days. If a refund is due, we pay it back to the card or PayPal account the payment came from — we cannot send it anywhere else. Your bank usually takes a further five to ten business days to show it.
If the payment was made by someone else, such as a parent or guardian, the refund returns to them.
When a refund will not be given
Outside the rights described above, we do not refund a membership where the account has been shared with other people, where our Terms of Service have been breached, or where the materials have been copied or redistributed.
We also cannot refund a payment made to an account you do not control. If you believe a payment was made without your permission, contact your bank or card provider as well as us.
What happens to your access
When a refund is issued, the membership it paid for ends and the account returns to free Silver access. Nothing you have saved is deleted, and you can pay again later if you want the full library back.
If you disagree with our decision
Please raise it with us first — email support@intuitionedu.com and we will look at it again.
